With bath re-enamelling (or resurfacing), we apply a new surface to your bath, making it look brand new once again. You won’t have to worry about altering your bath installation as the process is done in your bathroom. The special enamel I use hardens and cures in 24 hours, ensuring your bath is ready for use the following day. When I re-enamel a bath, as part of the process I will fill in any chip repairs, scratch repairs, etc., that need to be done so that when the new enamel is sprayed on, the surface will be smooth again. Whether it's a cast-iron, metal, or acrylic bath, I can restore it to a like-new condition. It only takes a day to do this procedure, which is much faster and cheaper than replacing your bath. You can trust my bath resurfacing, which comes with a 12-month guarantee.
In this day and age, it is so easy to buy something new and throw away the old one rather than trying to have it repaired or restored. It’s not easy to dispose of an old bath, especially depending on its material. Cast-iron baths weigh a ton and have to be smashed apart to be able to carry the pieces out of your house, and this obviously causes damage to the rest of your bathroom. Even with lighter acrylic baths, removal can lead to damage to the rest of your bathroom. After removal, redoing the tiling, reinstalling taps and drains, and potentially replacing the flooring are necessary. Restoring your bath is the most eco-friendly choice, preventing the additional waste generated from removing and replacing it. Metal baths are usually original features of older houses, and they will last for decades! When a metal bath shows signs of wear, resurfacing is a quick and effective way to restore it to its original condition. While acrylic baths have a shorter lifespan than metal baths, resurfacing them gives great results. Repairing chips and scratches requires color matching, but with full bath resurfacing or re-enamelling, I apply a new white enamel for a flawless finish.
I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. You simply can't just use normal white paint to paint the surface. The use of an adhesive bonder is critical in resurfacing to create a solid bond between the new layer and the original bath. I’ve sourced a unique bonder that ensures the resurfaced surface lasts longer and stays durable. Having used my chosen materials for years, I’m confident they provide the best, most durable resurfacing results.
All of my resurfacing work is done in-situ, so you will never have to remove your bath and transport it to me, then have it delivered back and installed again. By working in-situ, I minimize disruption to you—only needing one day of work in your bathroom before I’m done. Vitreous enamel involves coating your bath in powdered glass and fusing it onto the surface using a kiln at high temperatures. Due to the high temperatures involved, vitreous enamel can’t be performed in-situ, and it’s becoming increasingly rare among companies.
If your bath is severely chipped or dented, I’ll repair these imperfections first to ensure a flawless surface for resurfacing. There are no extra charges for this step; it’s all part of the resurfacing process. There aren't many baths that I can't resurface, so give me a call today to find out if I can restore your bath for you in Linn.
1. To prepare for the procedure, I will thoroughly mask the bathroom and all areas around your bath.
2. I’ll sand down the top surface of your bath, stripping it back to the metal. 3. I then will apply a layer of our special bonder and then fill in any holes, chips, cracks, etc. 4. After that, I will apply another layer of bonder on top. 5. Now I will spray on the new enamel surface to your bath. 6. Next, I’ll buff the surface to a high shine. 7. Allow 24 hours for the surface to cure before using your bath, and it will look brand new!
Re-enamelling or resurfacing a bath will take about 5-7 hours to complete. A significant portion of the time is spent masking and protecting all surrounding surfaces to prevent overspray. This important step ensures your bathroom remains safe from any accidental overspray. If there are chips or dents in your bath, these need to be filled before resurfacing for the best possible results. If your bath has damage, this extra step can take a bit longer than if no repairs are needed.
My years of experience in bath resurfacing mean I can get your bath looking like it’s just been installed. Re-enamelling your bath will restore it to a like-new appearance and feel.
Resurfacing your bath saves you money, reduces waste, and is a time-efficient, environmentally friendly option. You won't be adding more wastage to your local landfill site when you choose to repair and restore your bath. As part of the resurfacing process, I’ll take care of any chips, cracks, or scratches.
I use premium materials that ensure a flawless finish, something you can’t replicate with DIY products from a local store. I have been using the same materials for the last 10 years, so I know that they work every time and will produce a lasting result.
What’s the lifespan of a bath re-enamelling?
