We can repair cracks in your bath at a fraction of the price of replacing your bath! When you find a crack in your bath, it is such a hassle as you now can't use your bath due to it leaking or the crack potentially getting worse. The cost of ripping out and replacing your bath, along with the repairs to surrounding tiles and walls, is usually a significant, unplanned expense. Instead of replacing your whole bath, Surface Doctor Linn can repair the crack quickly and efficiently. Get in touch with us now for a free quote, with no obligation!
All of our technicians have many years of experience repairing cracked baths and they know how to spot when the damage is easily repairable, or if it does unfortunately need to be replaced. Most times the crack is just superficial and can be repaired to a high standard. In some cases, the crack is structural, meaning it impacts the bath’s strength or was caused by improper installation; in these cases, we advise against repairs as the crack may return. Our technicians are adept at identifying the type of crack and deciding the best course of action for your bath. When repair is an option, our technicians use an expert procedure to achieve a smooth, high-quality repair that you won’t notice. Our technicians will match the enamel paint to your bath’s exact colour to make sure the repair is seamless. This is a very precise skill and takes many years of practice and experience to perfect - which luckily all our technicians have!
1. Our technician will examine the crack to identify whether it's repairable or if it’s a structural issue. If it’s found to be structural damage, we won’t recommend repairing it and will not offer a warranty on any repair.
2. The technician will then clean the area and reinforce the crack from the underside of the bath to make sure it's watertight. 3. The next step is to fill in the crack and smooth it out so you can't feel it anymore. 4. The technician will then apply our custom bonder to the repair to get it ready for the next step. 5. A new enamel paint will be colour matched to the exact shade of white of your bath to make sure that it blends in seamlessly. This will be sprayed on to the repair using a fine spray gun. 6. For the repair to fully cure and set, leave your bath unused for 24 hours. 7. Relax and use your bath like normal, no need for costly replacement!
The repair process usually takes between 1-2 hours to half a day, depending on whether the crack is structural. It’s a much quicker option than removing and replacing your bath!
Our goal is to provide the highest quality repair and outstanding customer service, ensuring you're completely satisfied with the result. Most of our repairs won’t be noticeable with everyday use of your bath.
We never cut corners when carrying out repairs, using only top-quality, commercial-grade materials. Our technicians will colour match your bath crack repair by eye, ensuring a seamless result. When you see the finished repair, you'll be blown away by the quality. When customers ask why they should choose our services over a DIY repair kit, we suggest they try it out but contact us when it fails to deliver. The materials in DIY repair kits are of lower quality than the professional materials we use, meaning the repairs won’t last as long. It's also very hard to achieve a true colour match to the surface of your bath as the repair kit will only provide you with one or two shades of white to use on your repair. If DIY repair kits were as effective as advertised, we wouldn’t be here offering professional repairs! How durable is a bath crack repair?
While most repairs last for the duration of your bath, we cannot guarantee repairs with extensive cracks or structural damage, as the bath’s lifespan may be unpredictable.
