Sinks often require repairs due to the heavy usage they undergo. Accidental drops of glass bottles, pots, pans, etc, can all cause chips and cracks to the surface of your sink. Harsh cleaning products gradually dull the surface of your sink, making it harder to maintain and clean. With extensive experience in sink repairs, I can also resurface your sink for full restoration when required. All of my work is done in-situ, and a normal sink repair will only take about 1-2 hours! In just 24 hours, you can use your sink again, avoiding the hassle and cost of replacement. This is the most economical option for making your sink look new again without the expense of replacement. My repairs come with a 12-month warranty, and I’m fully insured. Your sink will be looking brand new again in no time!
For a flawless sink repair, it’s essential to match the new enamel paint to the existing sink colour. The colour matching is done by eye, mixing various tinters into the standard white enamel paint until it perfectly matches your sink. If the paint doesn’t match your sink exactly, you’ll be able to see the repair. This is a very specialised skill that I have perfected after many years of application. Most sinks are white, but there is actually a significant variation in their exact shade of white. The shade of white your sink has depends on the manufacturer, its age, usage, and factors like sun damage or chemical discoloration. Ensuring an accurate colour match is essential, and I take great care when performing sink repairs. If you opt for a full sink resurfacing, I’ll spray it with a brilliant white finish to make it look as good as new.
I only use top-quality materials that you won't find in your local DIY store. I use only the highest quality bonder and enamel paint to ensure all repairs stand the test of time. Having used the same materials for many years, I know they work and create lasting high-quality repairs every time. Some other companies cut corners by using cheaper materials, but this could lead to repairs failing and poor results. I stand by my work with a 12-month guarantee on all repairs, unless specified otherwise.
The initial step in my sink repair process is to apply a unique bonder to the damaged area and then fill the damage. I then colour match the new paint to your sink and apply another layer of bonder before spraying on the new enamel. Applying the new enamel with a fine spray gun guarantees that the repair blends in as smoothly as possible.
Before I fix any damage on a sink, I always assess how serious the damage is to determine the right repair approach. For minor chips or scratches, I can complete a quick chip repair in just 1-2 hours. In cases of more significant damage that spans a larger area, it’s best to resurface the entire sink. If there’s a large crack or hole in the sink, I can still repair it, but I may recommend replacing the sink instead, as it could be causing structural issues. If I repair it in this situation, I can’t offer a guarantee. This situation is the worst-case scenario.
The majority of my sink repairs will only take about 1-2 hours. Replacing your sink would take much longer than this repair. If you want to have your sink resurfaced, then this will take me a day to do, as I need to spend a lot of time masking off the rest of the room to protect it from overspray. This is still a much quicker and more affordable option than completely replacing your sink. Restoring antique sinks by resurfacing them is something I do regularly, bringing them back to their original beauty. Antique sinks typically feature intricate detailing that is not found on most modern sinks. If your sink is in need of repair, I can help restore it.
I ensure all my repairs are completed to the highest standard, focusing on durability and making sure they aren’t visible with normal use. While it’s possible to see something with a torch, it’s not common to use one when you’re using the sink as intended. No reputable repair company will promise you an invisible repair, so be wary of any companies that do, because they probably won’t be in business for long.
Having your sink repaired instead of replacing it will save you money, time, and is environmentally friendly. Repairing your sink helps cut down on waste and prevents more trash from going to the landfill.
Some customers have asked about DIY Repair Kits and whether they can handle their repairs themselves. The problem with DIY Repair Kits is that the materials are of poor quality, leading to a repair that won't last. It is also very hard to get a true colour match with the basic tinter they supply. You can absolutely give it a try if you feel confident, but I’ll be here to do a professional repair when you ask me.
How long will a sink repair last?
All of my sink repairs come with a 12-month guarantee. Repairs are designed to last as long as the sink itself, and if a failure occurs, it will happen within the first 12 months. In cases of structural or extensive damage, I can’t provide a guarantee, but I’ll make sure to let you know before proceeding. In these cases, I usually recommend replacing the sink, but if you prefer to keep your original sink, we can still help with the repair.
