Sink repairs are very common due to the hard usage that sinks have to endure. Accidental drops of glass bottles, pots, pans, etc, can all cause chips and cracks to the surface of your sink. Things like using harsh cleaners and soaps will slowly erode the shiny surface of your sink, making dirt stick to it and compromising its top layer. I’ve been repairing sinks for years and can provide full resurfacing for your sink when necessary. I do all my repairs on-site, and a typical sink repair only takes 1-2 hours. In just 24 hours, you can use your sink again, avoiding the hassle and cost of replacement. This is the most cost-effective way to make your sink look brand new without the need for replacement. My sink repairs are guaranteed for 12 months and I’m fully insured. Your sink will be looking brand new again in no time!
A crucial part of a successful sink repair is matching the new enamel paint to the exact colour of your existing sink. On the day of the repair, I mix different tinters into the standard white enamel paint by eye until it matches your sink’s shade exactly. A mismatch in the paint will make the repair noticeable. Through years of experience, I’ve mastered this specialised skill in sink repairs. Although sinks are often white, the specific shade of white can vary considerably. Your sink’s exact shade of white depends on the manufacturer and factors like age, usage, and chemical or sunlight exposure. Getting the exact colour match is crucial, so I’m very careful when doing repairs. If you choose to have your whole sink resurfaced, I will spray it with a new brilliant white so it looks brand new again.
All my repairs are done with professional-grade materials that are not available at standard DIY stores. I’ve sourced the best quality bonder and enamel paint to ensure all my repairs last. I’ve relied on these materials for years, and they consistently create durable, top-quality repairs. Other companies may try to cut costs with cheaper materials, but that can lead to failed repairs and subpar results. I always provide a 12-month guarantee with my repairs, unless specifically stated otherwise.
The repair process starts with applying a special bonder to the damaged area and filling it in. After colour matching the new paint to your sink, I apply an additional layer of bonder before spraying on the new enamel. The use of a fine spray gun helps the new surface blend into the existing sink, creating a seamless repair.
The first step in any sink repair is assessing the damage to figure out the best solution. For minor chips or scratches, I can complete a quick chip repair in just 1-2 hours. When the damage is widespread, resurfacing the sink is typically the best choice. If the sink has a large crack or hole, I can repair it, but it might be better to replace the sink if it's leading to structural concerns. In this case, any repair I do will not come with a guarantee. This situation is the worst-case scenario.
The majority of my sink repairs will only take about 1-2 hours. Replacing your sink would take much longer than this repair. Resurfacing your sink will take a full day, as I spend time masking the room to protect from any overspray. Even so, this is still much faster and more affordable than replacing your sink. I have done a lot of work restoring antique sinks to look brand new again by resurfacing them. The detailing and features on antique sinks are often more beautiful than what you find on modern sinks. If your sink is in need of repair, I can help restore it.
I ensure all my repairs are completed to the highest standard, focusing on durability and making sure they aren’t visible with normal use. If you were to get out a torch and shine it over the surface, you may be able to see something, but this is not very common when using your sink normally. A company that promises an invisible repair is likely not reputable, and they probably won’t be around for long.
By repairing your sink rather than replacing it, you'll save time, money, and reduce your environmental impact. Repairing your sink helps cut down on waste and prevents more trash from going to the landfill.
I’ve had some customers ask me about DIY Repair Kits and if they could just do their repairs themselves. The problem is the DIY Repair Kits only come with poor quality materials, so the repair won’t last. It is also very hard to get a true colour match with the basic tinter they supply. Feel free to try it yourself if you feel up to it, but I’ll be here for a professional repair when you’re ready.
How long will a sink repair last?
All of my sink repairs come with a 12-month guarantee. Your sink repair should last just as long as the sink itself, and any failure would occur within the first 12 months. The only time I can't offer a guarantee on a repair is if there is structural damage or extensive damage, and in this case, I'll make sure you know that I can't offer a guarantee before you go ahead with the repair. I often recommend replacing the sink when this happens, but if you wish to keep your original sink, we can still repair it.
