Sink repairs are frequently needed because of the constant use they face. Things like dropping glass bottles, pots, and pans can easily chip or crack your sink. The use of strong cleaners and soaps can damage your sink’s finish, causing dirt to adhere and wear down its surface. I have been repairing sinks for many years and can also do full sink restorations by resurfacing the whole surface of your sink when needed. All of my work is done in-situ, and a normal sink repair will only take about 1-2 hours! Once the repair is completed, your sink will be ready to use again in 24 hours, saving you time and money. Repairing and resurfacing your sink is the most economical way to restore it to like-new condition without replacing it. My sink repairs are guaranteed for 12 months and I’m fully insured. Your sink will look brand new in no time!
For a flawless sink repair, it’s essential to match the new enamel paint to the existing sink colour. This process must be done by eye on the day of your repair, mixing various tinters into the standard white enamel paint until I get an exact match to your sink. When the new paint isn’t a perfect match, the repair will be visible. Through years of experience, I’ve mastered this specialised skill in sink repairs. Most sinks are white, but there is actually a significant variation in their exact shade of white. The shade of white your sink has depends on the manufacturer, its age, usage, and factors like sun damage or chemical discoloration. It’s important to get an accurate colour match, and I’m very meticulous in doing so. If you decide to resurface your entire sink, I will apply a brilliant white finish to restore its original look.
All my repairs are done with professional-grade materials that are not available at standard DIY stores. To guarantee long-lasting repairs, I’ve sourced the best quality bonder and enamel paint. I’ve relied on these materials for years, and they consistently create durable, top-quality repairs. Some other companies cut corners by using cheaper materials, but this could lead to repairs failing and poor results. I offer a 12-month guarantee on all my repairs, unless otherwise noted.
When repairing a sink, the first thing I do is apply a special bonder to the damaged area before filling it in. Next, I colour match the new paint to your sink and apply another layer of bonder before spraying on the enamel. The use of a fine spray gun helps the new surface blend into the existing sink, creating a seamless repair.
Whenever I encounter damage on a sink, I have to make sure I know how bad the damage is so I can determine the best way to fix it. If the damage is just a few chips or scratches, I can handle it with a simple chip repair that takes only 1-2 hours. If the damage is extensive and affects a large portion of the sink, resurfacing the whole sink would be the most effective solution. In the case of a large crack or hole, I can still perform a repair, but I may advise replacing the sink due to possible structural damage. In this case, any repair I do will not come with a guarantee. But this is the worst-case scenario.
Typically, my sink repairs take only 1-2 hours to complete. This is a lot quicker than having to remove and replace your sink. Resurfacing a sink takes a day because I need to carefully mask off the room to avoid overspray. Once again, resurfacing is far quicker and more cost-effective than removing and replacing your sink. My work includes resurfacing antique sinks to restore their beauty and make them look like new. These old antique sinks usually have beautiful detailing and features that you just don’t get on modern sinks. If you need a sink restored or repaired, I’m here to help.
All of my repairs are done to a very high standard, and this is defined by creating a repair that will last and is not noticeable with normal usage. If you shine a torch over the repair, you might spot something, but this is rarely done in regular use. No reputable repair company will promise you an invisible repair, so be wary of any companies that do, because they probably won’t be in business for long.
Repairing your sink rather than replacing it will save you time, money, and is better for the environment. By choosing to repair your sink, you’re helping reduce waste at your local landfill site.
I’ve had customers ask if DIY Repair Kits would work for their sink repairs. DIY Repair Kits often include poor-quality materials that won’t provide a lasting repair. The basic tinter in DIY kits makes it challenging to get an accurate colour match. If you want to try it yourself, that’s fine, but I’ll be here for a professional repair when you ask.
How long will a sink repair last?
All of my sink repairs come with a 12-month guarantee. A proper sink repair should last as long as the rest of the sink, and if one of our repairs fails, it will most likely happen within the first 12 months. In cases of structural or extensive damage, I can’t provide a guarantee, but I’ll make sure to let you know before proceeding. In these cases, I usually recommend replacing the sink, but if you prefer to keep your original sink, we can still help with the repair.
