It’s become second nature to replace old items with new ones, but with baths, the process of removal and replacement is far more complicated. With baths, it's actually not that easy to get rid of the old one. Removing cast-iron baths involves breaking them down due to their weight, leading to potential damage to the rest of your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. Removing the bath means you’ll have to replace the tiling, reinstall taps and waste, and maybe even redo the flooring. Opting to restore your bath helps you avoid contributing to the large amount of construction waste produced every day. Traditional metal baths are common in older houses and can last for decades with proper maintenance. A quick resurfacing restores dull, chipped, or scratched metal baths to look brand new, providing a durable finish. Acrylic baths might not last as long as metal ones, but resurfacing them still provides impressive results. For individual repairs like chips and scratches, I color match the repair to your bath, but with re-enamelling or resurfacing, I use a fresh white enamel to respray the entire surface.

The materials I use to resurface your bath are professional grade that are only available on a commercial basis. It’s impossible to use ordinary white paint for resurfacing your bath; it requires specialized materials. A key step of successful resurfacing is using an adhesive bonder to bond the new surface to your original bath. I use a highly specialized bonder that ensures the most durable and lasting results for your bath. I complete all resurfacing work in-situ, so there’s no need to remove and transport your bath for repair. By working in-situ, I minimize disruption to you—only needing one day of work in your bathroom before I’m done. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
