These days, it’s common to discard old items and buy new ones, but with baths, it’s not always that simple. Removing an old bath isn’t as simple as it may seem. Cast-iron baths weigh a ton and have to be smashed apart to be able to carry the pieces out of your house, and this obviously causes damage to the rest of your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter, making removal easier, but still cause damage to your bathroom when removed. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring.
