These days, it’s common to discard old items and buy new ones, but with baths, it’s not always that simple. When it comes to baths, getting rid of the old one isn’t a quick or easy task. Cast-iron baths weigh a ton and have to be smashed apart to be able to carry the pieces out of your house, and this obviously causes damage to the rest of your bathroom. Although acrylic baths are easier to remove, the process still causes damage to surrounding areas in your bathroom. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. When you choose to restore your bath you are choosing the most environmentally friendly option as you won't be contributing to the vast amount of construction waste that gets produced on a daily basis. Metal baths are usually original features of older houses, and they will last for decades! When their surface becomes dull and tired, chipped, scratched, etc, it is so easy to resurface them so they look brand new again and you'll have a perfect and strong bath in no time. Repairing chips and scratches requires color matching, but with full bath resurfacing or re-enamelling, I apply a new white enamel for a flawless finish.

The materials I use to resurface your bath are professional grade that are only available on a commercial basis. It’s impossible to use ordinary white paint for resurfacing your bath; it requires specialized materials. A successful resurfacing process involves using an adhesive bonder to securely attach the new surface to the bath. I’ve sourced a unique bonder that ensures the resurfaced surface lasts longer and stays durable. All of my resurfacing work is done in-situ, so you will never have to remove your bath and transport it to me, then have it delivered back and installed again. Vitreous enamel involves coating your bath in powdered glass and fusing it onto the surface using a kiln at high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
