In today’s world, replacing items with new ones is easy, but when it comes to baths, it’s not as straightforward. Getting rid of an old bath is not as straightforward as many people think. Cast-iron baths are extremely heavy and must be broken apart for removal, which often results in damage to your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. It’s impossible to use ordinary white paint for resurfacing your bath; it requires specialized materials. To ensure proper resurfacing, I use an adhesive bonder that bonds the new surface firmly to the original bath. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. Vitreous enamel is a unique process where powdered glass is fused to the surface of the bath at extremely high temperatures in a kiln. This service could never be offered in-situ due to the extreme heat involved and I don't know of many companies that are able to offer this any more for baths.
