These days, it’s common to discard old items and buy new ones, but with baths, it’s not always that simple. Removing an old bath isn’t as simple as it may seem. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. By restoring your bath, you’re choosing an environmentally responsible option, reducing construction waste. Traditional metal baths are common in older houses and can last for decades with proper maintenance. Resurfacing is a simple and effective solution for worn, chipped, or scratched metal baths, making them look new and strong again. With individual repairs, I match the paint to your bath’s surface, but when resurfacing or re-enamelling, I apply a brilliant white enamel to the whole surface.

The materials I use to resurface your bath are professional grade that are only available on a commercial basis. You simply can't just use normal white paint to paint the surface. To ensure proper resurfacing, I use an adhesive bonder that bonds the new surface firmly to the original bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. Vitreous enamel is a specialized technique in which powdered glass is fused onto your bath at high temperatures in a kiln. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
