In this day and age, it is so easy to buy something new and throw away the old one rather than trying to have it repaired or restored. When it comes to baths, getting rid of the old one isn’t a quick or easy task. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter, making removal easier, but still cause damage to your bathroom when removed. You'll have to re-do the tiling around the bath, have the taps and waste re-fitted, and potentially get new flooring done. Opting to restore your bath helps you avoid contributing to the large amount of construction waste produced every day. Metal baths are usually original features of older houses, and they will last for decades! I only use top-grade materials, exclusively available for commercial use, to resurface your bath. It’s impossible to use ordinary white paint for resurfacing your bath; it requires specialized materials. One of the crucial steps for effective resurfacing is applying an adhesive bonder to attach the new surface to your original bath. I use a highly specialized bonder that ensures the most durable and lasting results for your bath. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. Vitreous enamel resurfacing requires extreme heat, which means it can’t be done in-situ and is rarely offered by companies now.
