These days, it’s common to discard old items and buy new ones, but with baths, it’s not always that simple. When it comes to baths, getting rid of the old one isn’t a quick or easy task. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. Although acrylic baths are easier to remove, the process still causes damage to surrounding areas in your bathroom. Removing the bath means you’ll have to replace the tiling, reinstall taps and waste, and maybe even redo the flooring. Restoring your bath is the most eco-friendly choice, preventing the additional waste generated from removing and replacing it. Metal baths are a lasting feature of older homes, providing durability for decades. Resurfacing is a simple and effective solution for worn, chipped, or scratched metal baths, making them look new and strong again. With acrylic baths, their lifespan is not as long as traditional metal baths but they are still able to be resurfaced to a great result. With individual repairs, I match the paint to your bath’s surface, but when resurfacing or re-enamelling, I apply a brilliant white enamel to the whole surface.

The materials I use to resurface your bath are professional grade that are only available on a commercial basis. You can’t simply apply regular white paint to resurface your bath. A successful resurfacing process involves using an adhesive bonder to securely attach the new surface to the bath. I use a highly specialized bonder that ensures the most durable and lasting results for your bath. I have been using my preferred materials for many years so I know that they work and create the highest standard of repairs.

There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. My in-situ resurfacing allows me to complete the job within a day, so you’ll be back to normal quickly. Vitreous enamel involves coating your bath in powdered glass and fusing it onto the surface using a kiln at high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
