It’s become second nature to replace old items with new ones, but with baths, the process of removal and replacement is far more complicated. Removing an old bath isn’t as simple as it may seem. Cast-iron baths weigh a ton and have to be smashed apart to be able to carry the pieces out of your house, and this obviously causes damage to the rest of your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. Removing your bath means redoing the tiling, refitting taps, and possibly replacing flooring, making it a costly and disruptive process. Restoring your bath instead of replacing it helps cut down on daily construction waste, making it a more sustainable option.
