Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. It’s impossible to use ordinary white paint for resurfacing your bath; it requires specialized materials. A key step of successful resurfacing is using an adhesive bonder to bond the new surface to your original bath. I’ve sourced a unique bonder that ensures the resurfaced surface lasts longer and stays durable. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. This service could never be offered in-situ due to the extreme heat involved and I don't know of many companies that are able to offer this any more for baths.
