In today’s consumer culture, we often choose to replace over repair, but when it comes to baths, it’s not so easy. Getting rid of an old bath is not as straightforward as many people think. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. Even with lighter acrylic baths, removal can lead to damage to the rest of your bathroom. Removing the bath means you’ll have to replace the tiling, reinstall taps and waste, and maybe even redo the flooring. By restoring your bath, you’re choosing an environmentally responsible option, reducing construction waste. Traditional metal baths are common in older houses and can last for decades with proper maintenance. When their surface becomes dull and tired, chipped, scratched, etc, it is so easy to resurface them so they look brand new again and you'll have a perfect and strong bath in no time. Acrylic baths may not last as long as metal baths, but they can still be resurfaced to great effect. When I repair individual chips and scratches on baths I have to colour match the repair to the surface of your bath, but with bath re-enamelling or bath resurfacing as I am respraying the whole surface I just use a new brilliant white enamel paint.

I only use top-grade materials, exclusively available for commercial use, to resurface your bath. Regular paint won’t do the job for bath resurfacing; the right materials are essential for success. A key step of successful resurfacing is using an adhesive bonder to bond the new surface to your original bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible. All of my resurfacing work is done in-situ, so you will never have to remove your bath and transport it to me, then have it delivered back and installed again. My in-situ resurfacing allows me to complete the job within a day, so you’ll be back to normal quickly. Vitreous enamel is a unique process where powdered glass is fused to the surface of the bath at extremely high temperatures in a kiln. Vitreous enamel resurfacing requires extreme heat, which means it can’t be done in-situ and is rarely offered by companies now.
