To ensure proper resurfacing, I use an adhesive bonder that bonds the new surface firmly to the original bath. Vitreous enamel is a unique process where powdered glass is fused to the surface of the bath at extremely high temperatures in a kiln. Due to the high temperatures involved, vitreous enamel can’t be performed in-situ, and it’s becoming increasingly rare among companies.
