It’s become second nature to replace old items with new ones, but with baths, the process of removal and replacement is far more complicated. Removing an old bath isn’t as simple as it may seem. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. Even with lighter acrylic baths, removal can lead to damage to the rest of your bathroom. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. Opting to restore your bath helps you avoid contributing to the large amount of construction waste produced every day. Metal baths are a lasting feature of older homes, providing durability for decades. When their surface becomes dull and tired, chipped, scratched, etc, it is so easy to resurface them so they look brand new again and you'll have a perfect and strong bath in no time. Acrylic baths might not last as long as metal ones, but resurfacing them still provides impressive results. With individual repairs, I match the paint to your bath’s surface, but when resurfacing or re-enamelling, I apply a brilliant white enamel to the whole surface.

I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. You can’t simply apply regular white paint to resurface your bath. One of the crucial steps for effective resurfacing is applying an adhesive bonder to attach the new surface to your original bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible. I complete all resurfacing work in-situ, so there’s no need to remove and transport your bath for repair. This way there is minimal disruption to you as I will only need to be working in your bathroom for a day before I'm out of your hair again. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.

When your bath is badly chipped or dented, I’ll repair these areas first to ensure a smooth and even surface before resurfacing.
