In this day and age, it is so easy to buy something new and throw away the old one rather than trying to have it repaired or restored. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. The use of an adhesive bonder is critical in resurfacing to create a solid bond between the new layer and the original bath. You may be familiar with Vitreous enamel, a specialized process where powdered glass is fused to the bath’s surface in a high-temperature kiln. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
