In today’s world, replacing items with new ones is easy, but when it comes to baths, it’s not as straightforward. Removing an old bath isn’t as simple as it may seem. Cast-iron baths are extremely heavy and must be broken apart for removal, which often results in damage to your bathroom. While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. Removing the bath means you’ll have to replace the tiling, reinstall taps and waste, and maybe even redo the flooring. By restoring your bath, you’re choosing an environmentally responsible option, reducing construction waste. Many older homes feature metal baths that can last a lifetime with the right care. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
