It’s become second nature to replace old items with new ones, but with baths, the process of removal and replacement is far more complicated. Getting rid of an old bath is not as straightforward as many people think. Removing cast-iron baths involves breaking them down due to their weight, leading to potential damage to the rest of your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter, making removal easier, but still cause damage to your bathroom when removed. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
