In today’s world, replacing items with new ones is easy, but when it comes to baths, it’s not as straightforward. When it comes to baths, getting rid of the old one isn’t a quick or easy task. Cast-iron baths are extremely heavy and must be broken apart for removal, which often results in damage to your bathroom. While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. You'll have to re-do the tiling around the bath, have the taps and waste re-fitted, and potentially get new flooring done. Restoring your bath instead of replacing it helps cut down on daily construction waste, making it a more sustainable option. Traditional metal baths are common in older houses and can last for decades with proper maintenance. When a metal bath shows signs of wear, resurfacing is a quick and effective way to restore it to its original condition. Though acrylic baths have a shorter lifespan than metal baths, resurfacing restores them to a like-new condition. When I repair individual chips and scratches on baths I have to colour match the repair to the surface of your bath, but with bath re-enamelling or bath resurfacing as I am respraying the whole surface I just use a new brilliant white enamel paint.

I only use top-grade materials, exclusively available for commercial use, to resurface your bath. Regular paint won’t do the job for bath resurfacing; the right materials are essential for success. A key step of successful resurfacing is using an adhesive bonder to bond the new surface to your original bath. The specialized bonder I use provides the strongest and most lasting bond for bath resurfacing. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
