In today’s consumer culture, we often choose to replace over repair, but when it comes to baths, it’s not so easy. With baths, it's actually not that easy to get rid of the old one. Removing cast-iron baths involves breaking them down due to their weight, leading to potential damage to the rest of your bathroom. Even with lighter acrylic baths, removal can lead to damage to the rest of your bathroom. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. Restoring your bath is the most eco-friendly choice, preventing the additional waste generated from removing and replacing it. Many older homes feature metal baths that can last a lifetime with the right care. When a metal bath shows signs of wear, resurfacing is a quick and effective way to restore it to its original condition. With acrylic baths, their lifespan is not as long as traditional metal baths but they are still able to be resurfaced to a great result. With individual repairs, I match the paint to your bath’s surface, but when resurfacing or re-enamelling, I apply a brilliant white enamel to the whole surface.

I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. Resurfacing a bath requires more than just white paint—it involves specific materials designed for the task. To ensure proper resurfacing, I use an adhesive bonder that bonds the new surface firmly to the original bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. You may be familiar with Vitreous enamel, a specialized process where powdered glass is fused to the bath’s surface in a high-temperature kiln. Due to the high temperatures involved, vitreous enamel can’t be performed in-situ, and it’s becoming increasingly rare among companies.
