In this day and age, it is so easy to buy something new and throw away the old one rather than trying to have it repaired or restored. Removing an old bath isn’t as simple as it may seem. Cast-iron baths weigh a ton and have to be smashed apart to be able to carry the pieces out of your house, and this obviously causes damage to the rest of your bathroom. Even with lighter acrylic baths, removal can lead to damage to the rest of your bathroom. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. Restoring your bath instead of replacing it helps cut down on daily construction waste, making it a more sustainable option. Metal baths are usually original features of older houses, and they will last for decades! Resurfacing is a simple and effective solution for worn, chipped, or scratched metal baths, making them look new and strong again. Though acrylic baths have a shorter lifespan than metal baths, resurfacing restores them to a like-new condition. When I repair individual chips and scratches on baths I have to colour match the repair to the surface of your bath, but with bath re-enamelling or bath resurfacing as I am respraying the whole surface I just use a new brilliant white enamel paint.

I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. Resurfacing a bath requires more than just white paint—it involves specific materials designed for the task. To ensure proper resurfacing, I use an adhesive bonder that bonds the new surface firmly to the original bath. The specialized bonder I use provides the strongest and most lasting bond for bath resurfacing. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. By working in-situ, I minimize disruption to you—only needing one day of work in your bathroom before I’m done. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.

When your bath is badly chipped or dented, I’ll repair these areas first to ensure a smooth and even surface before resurfacing.
