In this day and age, it is so easy to buy something new and throw away the old one rather than trying to have it repaired or restored. While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. The materials I use to resurface your bath are professional grade that are only available on a commercial basis. You can’t simply apply regular white paint to resurface your bath. The use of an adhesive bonder is critical in resurfacing to create a solid bond between the new layer and the original bath. I complete all resurfacing work in-situ, so there’s no need to remove and transport your bath for repair. Vitreous enamel involves coating your bath in powdered glass and fusing it onto the surface using a kiln at high temperatures. Due to the extreme heat required, this service can’t be done in-situ, and few companies offer it these days.
