These days, it’s common to discard old items and buy new ones, but with baths, it’s not always that simple. Removing an old bath isn’t as simple as it may seem. Removing cast-iron baths involves breaking them down due to their weight, leading to potential damage to the rest of your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. Removing the bath means you’ll have to replace the tiling, reinstall taps and waste, and maybe even redo the flooring. Restoring your bath instead of replacing it helps cut down on daily construction waste, making it a more sustainable option. Metal baths are usually original features of older houses, and they will last for decades! When the surface of metal baths gets worn, chipped, or scratched, resurfacing makes them look brand new again, restoring strength and beauty. With acrylic baths, their lifespan is not as long as traditional metal baths but they are still able to be resurfaced to a great result. When I repair individual chips and scratches on baths I have to colour match the repair to the surface of your bath, but with bath re-enamelling or bath resurfacing as I am respraying the whole surface I just use a new brilliant white enamel paint.

The materials I use to resurface your bath are professional grade that are only available on a commercial basis. Resurfacing a bath requires more than just white paint—it involves specific materials designed for the task. To ensure proper resurfacing, I use an adhesive bonder that bonds the new surface firmly to the original bath. The bonder I use is specifically sourced to guarantee the best, long-lasting outcomes. The materials I use have been trusted by me for years, and they provide unmatched results in bath resurfacing.

I complete all resurfacing work in-situ, so there’s no need to remove and transport your bath for repair. My in-situ resurfacing allows me to complete the job within a day, so you’ll be back to normal quickly. Vitreous enamel involves coating your bath in powdered glass and fusing it onto the surface using a kiln at high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
