These days, it’s common to discard old items and buy new ones, but with baths, it’s not always that simple. When it comes to baths, getting rid of the old one isn’t a quick or easy task. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter, making removal easier, but still cause damage to your bathroom when removed. You'll have to re-do the tiling around the bath, have the taps and waste re-fitted, and potentially get new flooring done. Vitreous enamel is a specialized technique in which powdered glass is fused onto your bath at high temperatures in a kiln. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
