It’s become second nature to replace old items with new ones, but with baths, the process of removal and replacement is far more complicated. Getting rid of an old bath is not as straightforward as many people think. Cast-iron baths are extremely heavy and must be broken apart for removal, which often results in damage to your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. Removing your bath means redoing the tiling, refitting taps, and possibly replacing flooring, making it a costly and disruptive process. Restoring your bath is the most eco-friendly choice, preventing the additional waste generated from removing and replacing it. Traditional metal baths are common in older houses and can last for decades with proper maintenance. Resurfacing is a simple and effective solution for worn, chipped, or scratched metal baths, making them look new and strong again. Acrylic baths may not last as long as metal baths, but they can still be resurfaced to great effect. When fixing chips and scratches, I match the color to your bath’s surface, but for re-enamelling or resurfacing, I use a new white enamel finish.

I only use top-grade materials, exclusively available for commercial use, to resurface your bath. Regular paint won’t do the job for bath resurfacing; the right materials are essential for success. A successful resurfacing process involves using an adhesive bonder to securely attach the new surface to the bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. My in-situ resurfacing allows me to complete the job within a day, so you’ll be back to normal quickly. Vitreous enamel involves coating your bath in powdered glass and fusing it onto the surface using a kiln at high temperatures. Due to the high temperatures involved, vitreous enamel can’t be performed in-situ, and it’s becoming increasingly rare among companies.

When your bath is badly chipped or dented, I’ll repair these areas first to ensure a smooth and even surface before resurfacing.
