While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. After removal, redoing the tiling, reinstalling taps and drains, and potentially replacing the flooring are necessary. Resurfacing a bath requires more than just white paint—it involves specific materials designed for the task. The use of an adhesive bonder is critical in resurfacing to create a solid bond between the new layer and the original bath. The specialized bonder I use provides the strongest and most lasting bond for bath resurfacing. All resurfacing is done directly in your bathroom, so you won’t have to remove your bath and deal with the hassle of transport and reinstallation. Vitreous enamel is a specialized technique in which powdered glass is fused onto your bath at high temperatures in a kiln. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
