It’s become second nature to replace old items with new ones, but with baths, the process of removal and replacement is far more complicated. It’s not easy to dispose of an old bath, especially depending on its material. With cast-iron baths, the removal process requires breaking them apart due to their weight, causing damage to your bathroom’s structure. While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. Removing the bath means you’ll have to replace the tiling, reinstall taps and waste, and maybe even redo the flooring. Restoring your bath instead of replacing it helps cut down on daily construction waste, making it a more sustainable option. Metal baths are often classic features of older homes and can last for many decades. A quick resurfacing restores dull, chipped, or scratched metal baths to look brand new, providing a durable finish. I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. You simply can't just use normal white paint to paint the surface. To ensure proper resurfacing, I use an adhesive bonder that bonds the new surface firmly to the original bath. The specialized bonder I use provides the strongest and most lasting bond for bath resurfacing. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
