In today’s consumer culture, we often choose to replace over repair, but when it comes to baths, it’s not so easy. Getting rid of an old bath is not as straightforward as many people think. Removing cast-iron baths involves breaking them down due to their weight, leading to potential damage to the rest of your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter, making removal easier, but still cause damage to your bathroom when removed. I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. It’s impossible to use ordinary white paint for resurfacing your bath; it requires specialized materials. One of the crucial steps for effective resurfacing is applying an adhesive bonder to attach the new surface to your original bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
