In today’s consumer culture, we often choose to replace over repair, but when it comes to baths, it’s not so easy. Getting rid of an old bath is not as straightforward as many people think. Cast-iron baths are extremely heavy and must be broken apart for removal, which often results in damage to your bathroom. While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. You can’t simply apply regular white paint to resurface your bath. One of the crucial steps for effective resurfacing is applying an adhesive bonder to attach the new surface to your original bath. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. This way there is minimal disruption to you as I will only need to be working in your bathroom for a day before I'm out of your hair again. Vitreous enamel involves coating your bath in powdered glass and fusing it onto the surface using a kiln at high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
