These days, it’s common to discard old items and buy new ones, but with baths, it’s not always that simple. It’s not easy to dispose of an old bath, especially depending on its material. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. After removal, redoing the tiling, reinstalling taps and drains, and potentially replacing the flooring are necessary. By restoring your bath, you’re choosing an environmentally responsible option, reducing construction waste. Many older homes feature metal baths that can last a lifetime with the right care. I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. You can’t simply apply regular white paint to resurface your bath. The use of an adhesive bonder is critical in resurfacing to create a solid bond between the new layer and the original bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible.
