In this day and age, it is so easy to buy something new and throw away the old one rather than trying to have it repaired or restored. It’s not easy to dispose of an old bath, especially depending on its material. Removing cast-iron baths involves breaking them down due to their weight, leading to potential damage to the rest of your bathroom. While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. I only use top-grade materials, exclusively available for commercial use, to resurface your bath. Regular paint won’t do the job for bath resurfacing; the right materials are essential for success. The use of an adhesive bonder is critical in resurfacing to create a solid bond between the new layer and the original bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible. There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. This service could never be offered in-situ due to the extreme heat involved and I don't know of many companies that are able to offer this any more for baths.
