It’s become second nature to replace old items with new ones, but with baths, the process of removal and replacement is far more complicated. It’s not easy to dispose of an old bath, especially depending on its material. Cast-iron baths are extremely heavy and must be broken apart for removal, which often results in damage to your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter and easier to move, but removing them can still damage your bathroom. Removing your bath means redoing the tiling, refitting taps, and possibly replacing flooring, making it a costly and disruptive process. Restoring your bath instead of replacing it helps cut down on daily construction waste, making it a more sustainable option. Traditional metal baths are common in older houses and can last for decades with proper maintenance. When the surface of metal baths gets worn, chipped, or scratched, resurfacing makes them look brand new again, restoring strength and beauty. With acrylic baths, their lifespan is not as long as traditional metal baths but they are still able to be resurfaced to a great result. When fixing chips and scratches, I match the color to your bath’s surface, but for re-enamelling or resurfacing, I use a new white enamel finish.

I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. It’s impossible to use ordinary white paint for resurfacing your bath; it requires specialized materials. To ensure proper resurfacing, I use an adhesive bonder that bonds the new surface firmly to the original bath. I have sourced a very specialised bonder which creates the most lasting results possible. I have been using my preferred materials for many years so I know that they work and create the highest standard of repairs.

There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. Since I work in-situ, the entire resurfacing process is completed in just one day, causing minimal disruption to your day-to-day life. You may be familiar with Vitreous enamel, a specialized process where powdered glass is fused to the bath’s surface in a high-temperature kiln. This service could never be offered in-situ due to the extreme heat involved and I don't know of many companies that are able to offer this any more for baths.
