In this day and age, it is so easy to buy something new and throw away the old one rather than trying to have it repaired or restored. When it comes to baths, getting rid of the old one isn’t a quick or easy task. Cast-iron baths are so heavy that they have to be smashed to pieces before being carried out, which can lead to damage throughout your bathroom. While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. You'll have to re-do the tiling around the bath, have the taps and waste re-fitted, and potentially get new flooring done. The materials I use for bath resurfacing are professional-grade, specifically sourced for commercial applications. You can’t simply apply regular white paint to resurface your bath. The use of an adhesive bonder is critical in resurfacing to create a solid bond between the new layer and the original bath. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
