Cast-iron baths are extremely heavy and must be broken apart for removal, which often results in damage to your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter, making removal easier, but still cause damage to your bathroom when removed. The use of an adhesive bonder is critical in resurfacing to create a solid bond between the new layer and the original bath. Vitreous enamel resurfacing requires extreme heat, which means it can’t be done in-situ and is rarely offered by companies now.
