These days, it’s common to discard old items and buy new ones, but with baths, it’s not always that simple. With baths, it's actually not that easy to get rid of the old one. Removing cast-iron baths involves breaking them down due to their weight, leading to potential damage to the rest of your bathroom. Acrylic baths are lighter, making removal easier, but still cause damage to your bathroom when removed. Once removed, you’ll need to re-tile around the bath, refit taps and drains, and possibly replace flooring. By restoring your bath, you’re choosing an environmentally responsible option, reducing construction waste. Many older homes feature metal baths that can last a lifetime with the right care. A quick resurfacing restores dull, chipped, or scratched metal baths to look brand new, providing a durable finish. Though acrylic baths have a shorter lifespan than metal baths, resurfacing restores them to a like-new condition. When I repair individual chips and scratches on baths I have to colour match the repair to the surface of your bath, but with bath re-enamelling or bath resurfacing as I am respraying the whole surface I just use a new brilliant white enamel paint.

I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. You can’t simply apply regular white paint to resurface your bath. One of the crucial steps for effective resurfacing is applying an adhesive bonder to attach the new surface to your original bath. I’ve sourced a unique bonder that ensures the resurfaced surface lasts longer and stays durable. I have been using my preferred materials for many years so I know that they work and create the highest standard of repairs.

All of my resurfacing work is done in-situ, so you will never have to remove your bath and transport it to me, then have it delivered back and installed again. My in-situ resurfacing allows me to complete the job within a day, so you’ll be back to normal quickly. You may have heard of Vitreous enamel - this is a specialised procedure where the bath is coated in a powdered glass material and then this is fused onto the surface of your bath in a large kiln at very high temperatures. I’m not aware of many companies still offering this in-situ, as the extreme heat needed makes it impossible.
