In today’s consumer culture, we often choose to replace over repair, but when it comes to baths, it’s not so easy. Removing an old bath isn’t as simple as it may seem. Removing cast-iron baths involves breaking them down due to their weight, leading to potential damage to the rest of your bathroom. While acrylic baths are much lighter and can be carried out more easily, it will still cause damage to the rest of your bathroom if you have it removed. You'll have to re-do the tiling around the bath, have the taps and waste re-fitted, and potentially get new flooring done. Opting to restore your bath helps you avoid contributing to the large amount of construction waste produced every day. Traditional metal baths are common in older houses and can last for decades with proper maintenance. When a metal bath shows signs of wear, resurfacing is a quick and effective way to restore it to its original condition. While acrylic baths have a shorter lifespan than metal baths, resurfacing them gives great results. With individual repairs, I match the paint to your bath’s surface, but when resurfacing or re-enamelling, I apply a brilliant white enamel to the whole surface.

I use commercial-grade materials to resurface your bath, which are not available to the general public. You simply can't just use normal white paint to paint the surface. A successful resurfacing process involves using an adhesive bonder to securely attach the new surface to the bath. I use a highly specialized bonder that ensures the most durable and lasting results for your bath. I have been using my preferred materials for many years so I know that they work and create the highest standard of repairs.

There’s no need to remove your bath or deal with complicated transport, as all of my resurfacing work is done in-situ. By working in-situ, I minimize disruption to you—only needing one day of work in your bathroom before I’m done. Vitreous enamel involves coating your bath in powdered glass and fusing it onto the surface using a kiln at high temperatures. Vitreous enamel resurfacing requires extreme heat, which means it can’t be done in-situ and is rarely offered by companies now.
